The brief:

Monster Children is a cutting-edge surf magazine based in Australia and the task at hand was to design a magazine spread for on of their feature articles for both the print edition and the iPad version. This was a student brief with a deadline of just a few hours. 

THE SOLUTION: 

The feature article talked about a climactic moment in a professional surfer’s career, so I used triangular shapes to represent this peak moment, the ‘apex’ of surfing moments. This theme was prevalent throughout in the typography, the layout and the imaging. I also used this theme to adapt the spread into the iPad version of the magazine.
